As technology has advanced and new forms of communication have made their debut, there remains one hold-over that still presents companies with real, measureable value: phone calls.

Invoca, a call tracking and analytics provider, recently conducted a survey of search marketers and found that many marketers are undervaluing the importance placing phone numbers in search engine results.

Among other findings, the study found that 47 percent of searchers stated that if businesses do not have a phone number listed on their search results they are more likely to explore other brands. The second, is that even with nearly half of all searchers stating they will move on to other brands if they do not see a business’s phone number in search results just 22 percent of marketers are leveraging click to call mobile ads or call extensions in AdWords ads.
